Unfinished Wood Blocks Kit

This is my new unfinished wood block kit.  It includes 7 unpainted wood blocks cut at 4.5″, 4″, and 3.5″, front and back themed papers (Christmas and Fall), as well as the lettering to make up the words Believe and HARVEST.  The wood is 3/4″ x 3.5″ pine, and great for decorating.  This is the perfect project for the DIY crafter who enjoys painting, mod podging and decorating.  And when your papers have all been set to the wood, you can embellish your words with your own ribbon, buttons, rhinestones, or anything else that you think will...

SVG Thanksgiving Card

Thanksgiving is fast approaching (well, in Canada anyway), so I thought I would make a cute Thanksgiving card from a kit that I got from SVGCuts.  Instead of just making it into a regular card, I thought it might be cute as a Thanksgiving place card for dinner.  It would add some color to the table, and I thought a note on the inside would make for a nice Thank-You to guests. Instead of making the smaller pumpkin out of paper, I cut it out of an adjustable chalkboard decal.  This way, if you were to keep your place cards, you can easily wipe the names off with a damp...

Funky Owl Bookends

I’ve added a couple more owl bookends to my shop over the last couple of days using my new owl design.  I do have a few to finish up of both the old owl design and the new as well.  The latest two have both been done with the crackle paint edging as well, but this time in a bright, hot pink color, and a bright turquoise blue.  I think the bright colors are so cheery and fun! I’m going to be adding unfinished sets to my shop soon too, offering both of my owl designs.  This means there will be three different owl designs to choose from and finish off at home!...

April/May Cricut Magazine

I received the April/May issue of the Cricut magazine in the mail today.  It’s featuring lots of pretty spring colors like pink, yellow, green and blue.  Some of this issues topics include Springtime, Mother’s Day, Banners, and Graduation.  I personally love the little banners they’ve made for their layouts. One idea I saw in here was cutting out images on transfer paper and ironing it onto a bag.  I thought this could be a fun idea for kids gym stip at school, a bag for the pool, or the beach this summer.  I’ll have to try it out once I find...

The End of 2010

Well, 2010 is almost over.  It’s been an exciting year for me with the start of Crafty Canada.  I can’t say I ever really imagined myself having this website and selling my own crafts.  I enjoy doing it, and I have to thank my husband for all his support in the process.  Without him I never would have attempted to use the tools that I do now.  He laughs when he looks in our garage and sees all these woodworking tools…for me! I just wanted to say thank-you to my Crafty Canada viewers and customers.  I’m looking forward to creating more projects...
