April/May Cricut Magazine

I received the April/May issue of the Cricut magazine in the mail today.  It’s featuring lots of pretty spring colors like pink, yellow, green and blue.  Some of this issues topics include Springtime, Mother’s Day, Banners, and Graduation.  I personally love the little banners they’ve made for their layouts.

One idea I saw in here was cutting out images on transfer paper and ironing it onto a bag.  I thought this could be a fun idea for kids gym stip at school, a bag for the pool, or the beach this summer.  I’ll have to try it out once I find some transfer paper.  I saw lots of bags for sale at the dollar store the other day that would probably work perfect for this project!

I was hoping there would be a lot of Easter ideas in this months issue, but there really isn’t much, so I decided to check out one of my favorite svg spots for Easter ideas.  I purchased the Easter Bunnies collection, Spring Birdhouse collection, and the Letter Pennants collection all at svgcuts.com.  Although they did have an Easter themed banner collection, I wasn’t sure I loved the Easter cutouts that came with it.  I searched the site and found the Letter Pennants collection and thought it would work great for my project.  Each letter of the alphabet is featured in its own banner, plus they have a plain set that I could cut out other Easter pictures and stick on to.  I also thought I could make new banners for my boy’s birthdays with their names in.

I’ll be making some new projects soon (finally) and will be posting them once they’re finished, so keep checking back to see what I come up with!
