Getting Into The Christmas Spirit!

Seeing as Christmas is only a few days away I thought I would do a few projects to honor the season.  I realized that I haven’t done much of anything this year in the way of Christmas crafts.  I didn’t even send cards out this year to family and friends!  Crafty Canada takes up most of my time, and everything else just got put on hold this year.  I’m still new at all this so perhaps my New Year’s Resolution will be to learn how to manage my time a little better! Anyways, today I got busy and did a few different projects.  I wanted to make a...

Christmas Goody Bags

I made some Christmas goody bags for my son to give to his grade 3 classmates.  I wish I would have done these sooner to put online, but for some reason I keep forgetting Christmas is next week already.  I thought the kids still had a week left of school!  I had actually started these last week, but got caught up doing some bookends, so….Nothing like leaving it to the last day! These goody bags are a similar idea to the Halloween bags I made.  I used some little baggies that I found at the dollar store, cardstock, butterfly clips, ribbon, and gems.  I used my...

Free SVG Christmas Card

I put a new svg on the Craft Edge website of these two trees that I put on my card.  You can find them under the Holidays link and they’re called Snowy Trees.  I thought I should make something with them to show how they can look, seeing as they don’t look like a very exciting svg.  I can’t honestly say that I love this card, it was just something I quickly threw together, but anybody with more card making skills than me I’m sure would be able to do something much nicer with this svg! I used my Xyron machine to get the trees sticky, then I...

Christmas Countdown Blocks

I finally finished my first set of Christmas Countdown Blocks.  Each block is 3″ x 3″ and sit on a six inch 2″ x 4″ block.  Each side of the block has a different piece of Christmas patterned paper on it.  I added snowflakes and gems to each side as well.  In the evening the lighting makes the gems sparkle. I can’t wait to put these blocks up on my mantle at Christmas.  I know my kids are going to love flipping them each day.  I might make a set for my front entrance shelf as well, or perhaps for the rec. room downstairs!  I guess it is...

New Harvest Blocks

Well my fireplace mantle has been decorated and I’m just about ready for Thanksgiving.  I put up a bunch of leafy garland that I bought at Michaels and added my HARVEST blocks that I made a couple of weeks ago.  I painted these blocks brown and added patterned paper to each one in fall colors.  A couple of little pumpkins finished off the decorations!  I would still like to make something for my front entrance as well, like maybe a Give Thanks board, or something like that.  Maybe I’ll get to do that before the...

Hallowe’en Countdown Blocks

I just finished my Hallowe’en countdown blocks!  This is such a cute project.  I made them on 3″ x 3″ square blocks of wood, with a 2″ x 4″ for the bottom block.  Each side has been covered in a different pattern of Hallowe’en paper, and each side has a number on it.  The blocks were painted black and have been sealed with mod podge and varnish.  This is a fun wood project for halloween and kids will love flipping the blocks each day until then!  I’m going to be selling a Countdown Blocks Kit soon which will be great for any...
