CoCaLo In The Woods Inspired Bookends

I created a custom set of bookends to go with my customer’s Cocalo In The Woods bedding.  It’s such a cute bedding set, and goes perfect with my owl themed bookends.  I decided to change up my owls a little though, to better match the owls on her nursery bedding. The set has been done in pinks, oranges, yellows, and browns.  I tried to incorporate the pink, yellow, and orange as best I could, but had trouble figuring out where I would put the brown.  Needless to say, I left the brown out.  I found the raspberry pink on the head of the owls hard to match...

Owl and Butterfly Bookends

This is a brightly coloured custom set of bookends I made in pink, aqua, green, and lavender to match my customer’s  bedding set (unfortunately I don’t know the name of the set or where to purchase it).  I think it would go pretty well in any owl or butterfly themed room though that incorporates these colours.  The Baby Boom Owls In A Tree bedding set at Walmart would be a great match for this set.  Or coordinate these bookends with floral prints, stripes, or polka dots with the same colors.  There are so many cute kids bedding sets out there that they can...

Owl and Squirrel Bookends

I recently found a really cute bedding set at Toys R Us called the Kids Line Dena Happi Tree collection.  It has owls, squirrels, birds, and hedgehogs; all the things I love to make!  I love the pinks, yellows and blues that this set is colored in, so I decided to make a set of bookends similar to this bedding. Usually I would mod podge on some paper flowers, but because this set has so many flowers and colors to it, I decided to try painting on some leaves and flowers using some stamps that I had.  They worked really well, and I just cut out a flourish in brown paper...

New Owl Bookend Design

I’ve finally created some owl bookends, and decided it was time to come up with a second owl design.  These little guys are what I came up with, and I think they’re so cute!  I just love their little faces 🙂 .  This time around though I decided to try a crackle paint technique on my bookends around the outer edges, just for something different.  I suppose it gives them some what of a shabby chic kind of look. I’ve continued to use the flowers on the owls ears, and gems down the sides of each end, just because I like the way they look.  And I also...

New Green and Lavender Bookends

Today I finished two new sets of bookends.  Each are done in grey, black, and white; but one set was done with lavender and the other with green.  These are two simple sets that would go great in rooms done with either of these colors as accents. I also added some scribble flowers to each set and put a little white pearl in the center of each one.  I added three white pearls down the front edge of each bookend as well. The set done in green might look more yellow in the photo, but my camera is making things look lighter and more washed out than they actually are.  The...

Love Laugh Pray Bookends

This is my latest idea I had for my bookends with blocks.  I wanted to put words on them that would be fitting for a little girl.  I came up with Sing, Dance, Play, Love, Laugh, Pray.  I did them in soft pink, purple, and green.  I added some pretty paper to the front of each block, as well as added some gems and a cute little flower. The bookends have been painted a light pink, and I sanded all the edges for distressing.  The words were done in a fun font to add a little whimsy to the blocks.  I think this set would be great in a girl’s room.  The words...
