Floral Art Paper Heart

Inspired by all the lovely paper flowers I’ve been seeing online lately, as well as some gorgeous Scandinavian floral designs, I decided to try my hand at it.  I thought I’d create a picture of a heart using different flowers and leaves in black and purple tones.

I used my Cricut machine to cut out some their images, used a couple flower punches I had on hand, and also created my own leaves.  I layered some of my paper flowers, and gave the petals some curl for a little texture.  I also added a few rhinestones to the centers for some added sparkle.

It’s was actually kind of fun creating this picture.  The curling of the petals is a little tedious, and I think I’ll have to see if I can find a faster way to do it, but I think one could create a lot of different designs this way.  You could also create some really pretty art for a girl’s bedroom or nursery, using colors that match the decor.  I think I’m going to try framing mine, although a shadow box would work best.  I’ll post another picture if I do manage to get one framed!
