Teacher’s Gift Ideas for Christmas

If any of you have a Cricut machine, then you should absolutely get the SCAL program from Craft Edge, then go to svgcuts and download their super cute svg files for Christmas!  I just downloaded this drum and sleigh from their Santa’s Visit SVG Kit, and I think they’re perfect for creating teacher’s gifts for my boys to give to their teachers this year.

I always say I’m the worst gift giver there is.  I never know what to give people…especially teachers!  But this year I’m going to do up two of the little drums, fill them with some chocolates and a Tim Horton’s gift card, and give those to my boys to give away.  I had every intent on giving away the sleigh as well, but mine keeps wanting to tip over when I try to put the treats in there.  (I think I attached everything a little crooked when I put it all together)

Both of my kids have male teachers, so I tried to do them in more masculine colors, such as browns and greens.  I think those colors give them a more antique look anyways, which I like.  You could do some ink distressing along the edges also if you were to chose these types of colors.

If you make the drum, be warned that you’ll need lots of little brads, and some thin twine, string, or ribbon.  You’ll actually need 24 brads in all.  They really add to whole look of it though!  I didn’t have enough so I had to run out and grab some.  The only ones the dollar store had (because I’m cheap), were little square ones.  I was a bit concerned at first that they would look weird, but it turns out I like them even better than the round ones.  And I think they go great with the whole masculine theme :).
