Dinosaur Stacking Blocks

I found the cutest dinosaur paper at the scrapbook store the other day.  I grabbed the Dino Parade and BabySaurus papers from the Little Yellow Bicycle Collection.  I’ve been wanting to do some decorative stacking blocks, so I thought this paper would be perfect on them!

I cut three blocks approximately three inches each, primed them, and painted them each a different color, light orange, green, and blue.  Because the colors were all so light I thought I would add a darker shade of the same color cardstock to each side, before mounting my dino paper onto them.

I cut out a different dinosaur for the front of each block from the Baby DinoSaurus paper first, then I cut out four squares for each block of the Dino Parade, totalling twelve squares.  I didn’t bother doing the bottoms of the blocks as you don’t see that side anyways.

I mod podged on all my papers and gave each side a final coating before I put on a clear coat to seal them all.  To finish them off I added a little green leaf to the top block, and three buttons to front of each for some extra color and texture.

They’re so cute and would be the perfect shelf accessory in a little boy’s dinosaur themed bedroom!  This set is available for purchase at my Etsy shop.  Just click here to go to my shop!
