Home Blocks

Well, I finished my HOME blocks, and I gotta say I’m pretty happy with how they turned out!  As I said before, the primer I used was a pain in the neck, but I like how the white looks with the black paint.  Normally I would probably just paint the block black and sand the edges to have the raw wood show for a border, but the white stands out so nicely.  I found some scrapbooking paper with a greyish washed pattern on it, and I cut the word HOME out with the Cricut in black cardstock paper using the Cricut cartridge George.  The words FRIENDS AND FAMILY ALWAYS WELCOME were cut in black vinyl using the Harrington font in the www.craftedge.com website.

I figured it would be easier and neater to use vinyl for so many words rather than glueing on paper letters individually.  I used some brown with blue polka-dots ribbon, as well as striped ribbon in the same colors, and blue buttons to embellish the blocks.  This set is definately gift worthy, although I might have to make another set for myself!  Here’s a link to this set of blocks.
