New Owl Bookends

Owl Coat Hook

This is my newest creation to go along with the whole owl theme.  This is my little coat hook I created in brown, green, and purple.  This sleeping owl is about 8″ high by 7″ wide and has had a brushed silver knob screwed to the front of it.  Green and purple flowers were added to the ear to give this little owl a cute girly look! Two key hole notches were put in the back for hanging.  These are great because the owl is hooked solid to the wall and won’t move around when you hang up or remove sweaters, like it would with just a hook on the back. Owl and Squirrel Bookends

I recently found a really cute bedding set at Toys R Us called the Kids Line Dena Happi Tree collection.  It has owls, squirrels, birds, and hedgehogs; all the things I love to make!  I love the pinks, yellows and blues that this set is colored in, so I decided to make a set of bookends similar to this bedding. Usually I would mod podge on some paper flowers, but because this set has so many flowers and colors to it, I decided to try painting on some leaves and flowers using some stamps that I had.  They worked really well, and I just cut out a flourish in brown paper...

New Green and Lavender Bookends

Today I finished two new sets of bookends.  Each are done in grey, black, and white; but one set was done with lavender and the other with green.  These are two simple sets that would go great in rooms done with either of these colors as accents. I also added some scribble flowers to each set and put a little white pearl in the center of each one.  I added three white pearls down the front edge of each bookend as well. Purple Owl Bookends

This is my latest set of owl bookends that I’ve done in purple this time.  I liked the dark purple and thought it would be fun to work with.  I painted the owls in another shade of purple, and yellow.   I then added green, pink and orange papers for the design.  I gave each owl pretty green eyes, and I added some glitter globe gems to the edge of each bookend.
