Monogrammed Wood Heart

I recently created this cute wood heart, which I made out of three pieces of 3.5″ pine.  I cut each piece, then painted them a pretty Terrace White.  I then glued them together, and added wood strips to the back for a stronger hold.  I cut out my letter B stencil, as well as my Est. date and name.  The B was painted Washed Teal, and the name and date were done in Martha Stewart’s Grey Wolf. This heart would look lovely anywhere in the home, including an entry way, living room, or with a collage of family pictures.  It would also make for a perfect...

I’m selling custom name blocks at my Etsy shop, now called Decorated Wood.  If you would like a custom set of these blocks, click here, and order online.  It’s super easy, just pick a set you like, pick the quantity of blocks...

So Many Owls!!

I’ve been working away, cutting, painting, mod podging…starting on a few new sets of owl bookends.  I’ve picked out some new colors and designs for these ones from a book of cardstock paper that I have in my cupboard.  And to be honest, I can’t even remember where I got it.  I’m hoping it was Walmart, because I would really like another one of these books, and I’m hoping it wasn’t from the scrapbook store that shut down earlier this year 🙁  The brand name on the back is Momenta, so I think I’ll check that out.  Maybe...

Halloween Banner

I felt like making a Halloween craft today, so I thought I’d try a banner.  I used the pennant svg from the Toil and Trouble SVG Kit (click the link to go to this kit), along with a few other SVG’s from some other kits.  I picked black cardstock paper for my background pennant, which was done with the pointy shadow effect on my Cricut machine, and purple, red, and orange cardstock for the top layer.  I was going to use patterned Halloween scrapbook paper, but I thought it might distract from the letters in my word SPOOKY. I got the bat and flower svgs...

Give Thanks Blocks

I was feeling crafty yesterday so I made a set of Give Thanks Thanksgiving blocks.  I was itching to do up some pumpkins with my cute pumpkin svg, so this is what I came up with.  They’re all made from 3/4″ pine, and were all painted brown.  The blocks got a little distressing with some sanding around the edges, and the the pumpkins were distressed with ink.  I used my flourish and dots embossing folders on the pumpkins to give them a little texture, and I used a flourish stamp with orange ink on my green cardstock.  Everything was given a clear-coat for...
