New Handmade Birthday Card

This is another take on the thank-you card that I posted yesterday.  I had said that this layout would work as a birthday card, so I decided to give it a try!  I used lots of bright colors like green, orange, yellow, and blue.  I decided to gear it more towards a boy, so I added the little birthday snake from the Create A Critter Cricut cartridge.  There was also a cute little pig in there that would have been fun to use, but I thought the snake would work well for a boy.

I also used my Plantin SchoolBook Cricut cartridge for the letters, but I think I made them a little bit big.  The “B” and the “D” look a little funny on the circles, but I used them anyways.  The other letters fit okay.  I also put a few of the circles and letters through my Cuttlebug using the Swiss Dots embossing folder to give them a little texture.

Again, I used my square punch, which is approximately 1.4″, and cut my circles at 1.4″, as well, on my cricut machine using the shapes in the SCAL program.  I attached the squares onto a green piece of cardstock, cutting it just a bit bigger than the space needed for the squares, then layed it all again onto my folded yellow card.

It’s such an easy card to make, yet still interesting to look at with all the colors and layers involved!
